Have you ever stared at the sky and felt a mix of wonder and
peace? Like something bigger than you is out there something infinite. That’s
the feeling many people describe when they think about God. But instead of
focusing on who God is, this
post invites you to look at how we
experience God not just through belief, but through perspective.
Perspective shapes how we see the world. It also shapes our
understanding of faith. When we take time to reflect on life during a walk, in
quiet moments, or even when wearing a comfortable flowy racerback tank and simply being present we
sometimes sense there’s more to life than meets the eye. That “more” can lead
us into a deeper awareness of God’s presence.
As the Old Testament reminds us in Ecclesiastes 3:11, “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” This speaks to the mystery and wonder we feel when we try to grasp the divine. In the New Testament, James 4:8 encourages us with, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” These verses invite us to explore not just believe, but truly experience the boundless nature of God.
God’s Presence: Bigger Than We Imagine, Closer Than We Think
Many of us grew up hearing about God in specific ways. Maybe we learned that God is all-powerful, or that He watches over us. But as we grow and our view of the world expands, so can our understanding of faith. One of the most freeing truths is this: God is not limited by our ideas of Him.
In the Old Testament,
when Moses encounters God through the burning bush, he asks God’s name. God replies, “I AM WHO I AM” (Exodus 3:14). That response might seem
simple, but it holds depth. It means God just is always has been, always will be. He exists beyond time,
beyond space, and beyond human categories.
Think about that. Everything we know has a start and an end.
But God doesn’t fit into those lines. Psalm
147:5 says, “Great is our Lord and
mighty in power; His understanding has no limit.” That’s both
humbling and comforting. It means there’s always more to discover, more to
understand. And that’s okay.
In our daily lives, we often search for meaning. We want to
feel seen and heard. In moments of joy and sorrow, we might wonder if God is
near. The Bible gives us an answer in Psalm 139:7-10, where David
writes, “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? Even
there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast.”
This reminds us that no matter where life takes us, God is already there.
Now, let's shift to the New Testament. Jesus tells His followers in Matthew 28:20, “Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” This isn’t just a promise for a future time it’s a present reality. Through faith, we can experience God not as a distant force, but as a close companion.
Faith and Perspective: A Journey, Not a Destination
Perspective changes everything. Two people can go through the same experience and come away with different lessons. The same is true for faith. Some people see God in a church service, others feel His presence under the open sky. Faith isn’t about where you are it’s about how you see.
When life gets tough, it’s easy to feel alone. But faith
invites us to shift our focus.
Instead of asking, “Why is this
happening to me?” we can ask, “What can I learn from this? Where is God in this
moment?” That small change in perspective can bring peace, even in the
hardest times.
Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped
for, the conviction of things not seen.” Faith doesn’t always give us clear
answers. But it gives us hope and trust.
It helps us believe that there’s a purpose, even if we don’t fully see it yet.
You don’t need to have all the answers to have faith. In
fact, many people find that questions
lead them deeper into belief. It’s in the wonder, the mystery, and the
seeking that faith becomes real.
Here’s something to think about: every person’s journey with
God is unique. There’s no one-size-fits-all. Your experiences, your thoughts,
your feelings they all shape your relationship with God. And that’s beautiful.
Some people feel close to God in nature. Others through music, art, or acts of kindness. The key is to stay open to keep looking, feeling, and listening.
Living With Wonder and Awe
At the end of the day, exploring the boundless nature of God isn’t about proving anything. It’s about being open to wonder. It’s about feeling connected to something greater, especially in the quiet, in the chaos, and in the moments in between.
In a world that often tries to define everything, there’s
something powerful about letting God remain a mystery. That doesn’t mean we
can’t know Him. It means that what we
do know leads us to awe. The Old Testament tells us in Isaiah
55:9, “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than
your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” And the New
Testament echoes this idea in Romans 11:33, “Oh, the depth of the riches
of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his
paths beyond tracing out!”
Look around you. Notice the details the light through the
trees, the sound of laughter, the feeling of being fully alive. These moments
are not random. They’re part of a bigger picture.
Faith isn’t about having it all figured out. It’s about
walking through life with trust, hope,
and perspective. Whether you're wearing your favorite womens ribbed tank tops on a sunny afternoon or facing a
difficult season, God is with you. Not just as a figure to be believed in, but
as a presence to be experienced.
Let’s choose to live with open hearts and curious minds.
Let’s choose to see God not as a distant being, but as a living reality bigger
than our beliefs, yet close enough to feel.
